September 9th, the ninth day of the ninth month is

International Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Awareness (FASD) Day. 

 

People all over the world are

joining together to bring awareness to the fact that there is NO known safe amount of alcohol consumption ANYTIME during the ENTIRE NINE MONTHS of PREGNANCY.

 

In Anchorage, be on the lookout for

displays of wooden stick figures which represents the tens of

thousands of real Alaskans that are impacted by the permanent effects of FASD. 

 

And please share the word -

If a woman is pregnant, or thinks she could become pregnant, she should not drink any alcohol at all.
